Catholic Church's Winona Archdiocese releases a list of 14 priests accused of sexually abusing minors

The Catholic Diocese of Winona on Monday complied with a court order and released a list of names of 14 priests who had been accused of sexually abusing minors.

The list contains several names that should be familiar to Fillmore and Houston County residents.  Eight of the priests served in either Fillmore or Houston County.  In several cases the priests served several different church in Fillmore or Houston County.

For instance, William Curtis served St. Lawrence Church in Fountain and St. Kilian Church in Wykoff from August of 1952 through May 1953, returned to the two churches from April of 1956 through October of 1958, then served St. Peter Church in Hokah from July of 1965 through March of 1966.

St. John's/St. Mary Church in Caledonia was served by three priests named on the list--Ferdinand Kaiser from October of 1941 through June of 1943; Thomas Adamson from August of 1963 through November of 1964; and Joseph Cashman from July of 1985 through September of 1992.
