Police raid an alleged meth lab

Decorah Police and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies Thursday night conducted a search of the house at 2474 Dogwood Road and arrested two people on charges of running a meth lab.

53-year-old Richard Asegan, Junior and 51-year-old Amy Downing were charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine (a Class B felony); Possession of a Drug Precursour Pseudoephedrine (a Class D felony) and Possession of a Drug Precursor Lithium (a Class D felony).

Police say evidence of a previous meth lab operation was found in the home.

The Decorah Police Department and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department were aided by the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office, Postivlle Police, Iowa State Patrol, Decorah Fire Department and Winneshiek Medical Center.
