Three people have applied to fill the at-large vacancy on the Decorah City Council

At-large Decorah City Council representative Rachel Vagts has announced she will resign from the city council on December 31st to move to Kentucky. 

City officials are now accepting applications for the at-large city council position.

Three people have already submitted applications.  Decorah realtor Tade Kerndt has applied for the position, as have former Decorah City Council member Jarrad Walter and recent mayoral candidate Jim McIntosh.

City council members have indicated they want to name a replacement for Vagts at the first city council meeting in January.
