Decorah Police were busy during Thanksgiving week

The Decorah Police Department said seven of its officers were busy during the Special Traffic Enforcement Program last week during the Thanksgiving holiday.

One drunk driving arrest was made, five speeding citations were issued, two drivers were cited for driving while revoked or suspended and four other citations were issued for moving violations.

In addition, 33 verbal warnings were given out, two traffic accidents were investigated and five motorists were assisted by police officers.

The Special Traffic Enforcement Program was a statewide effort in Iowa running from Monday, November 25th, though Sunday, December 2nd.
