November weather in Decorah was cooler than normal

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says temperatures averaged 33.8 degrees in Decorah in November.  That's 1.2 degrees cooler than normal.

Bernatz says temperatures ranged from 4 degrees above zero on November 24th to 59 degrees on November 17th.  That means Decorah has not yet had a reading below zero, but that's common--the median date of the first zero or below temperature is December 7th.  (Our forecast calls for below zero temperatures on Thursday and Friday).

For the 119 years for which temperature readings have been kept, 72 Novembers were warmer and 46 were cooler.

Decorah received 2.00 inches of precipitation in November, with 1.33 inches of that total falling on November 6th.  The monthly total was 0.19 inches more than normal.  For the last 12 months, Decorah still has a precipitation surplus of 13.87 inches, thanks to the 21.33 inches of rain than fell in May and June.
