Nordic Fest Board announces 2014 theme, "May the Norsk be With You"

"May the Norsk Be With You" is the theme for the 48th Annual Nordic Fest set for next July 24th, 25th and 26th.

"The committee typically selects a message that represents the Norwegian identity in a fun and lighthearted way," said Nordic Fest President Randy Schissel. 

Each year several theme suggestions are submitted and discussed by the Nordic Fest Board. Once a selection is made, the committee begins to creatively include the theme on buttons, programs and merchandise, all available weeks prior to the event.

Residents and businesses will be encouraged to decorate window displays, porches or gardens utilizing the theme.

As always, the Nordic Fest parade encourages all entries to use the theme.  This year's parade will have a contest for the best theme-related float.  Contest award and prizes will be announced at a later date but local businesses are encouraged to start thinking about their entry.
