Former Luther College student Tim Olstad enjoyed it while it lasted.
Olstad was one of ten semifinalists on Fox Televisions "The X Factor," but his attempt to win the competition ended last Thursday.
"As sad as I am, I'm also very proud of myself," he told Fox TV. The 24-year-old Winona, Minnesota native said his stint on "The X Factor" convinced him that he could be a professional singer.
Olstad was part in two choirs during his time at Luther College. Tim attended Luther College during the 2008 to 2009 school year, when he sang in Norsemen, and during the 2009 to 2010 school year, when he sang in Cathedral Choir. He left Luther College at the end of the 2009-2010 school year to pursue his goal of becoming a professional singer.
Olstad's father, Gene Olstad, graduated from Luther in 1961.
