Decorah woodcarver Harley Refsal to be featured on December 20th PBS program

"Craft in America," the Peabody Award-winning and the Emmy-nominated television series on PBS, will begin its fifth season on December 20th with a profile of Decorah woodcarver Harley Refsal.

The program follows Refsal, the acclaimed wood carver and Nordic folk artisan, as he teaches students at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina.

The program has a Christmas theme, as Refsal explains how holiday traditions such as Santa, the Christmas tree, gifts and special meals all had their beginnings in the winter solstice.
