Decorah Police have arrested two men in separate accidents.
60-year-old Steven Middlebrook of Cresco was traveling west on Pole Line Road on Thursday morning when he swerved to avoid a deer, but lost control and hit a fire hydrant near the Decorah Bus Barn. Officers then arrested Middlebrook for second offense drunk driving.
Police also made an earlier arrest of 21-year-old Zachary Lashbrook of Waverly, who is accused of drunk driving in the Luther Regent Center parking lot. Lashbrook's car jumped a curb and hit a parked car, causing $2,000 in damages. Police later found Lashbrook and arrested him for first offense drunk driving.
