NICC named to Military Friendly Schools list

For the fourth consecutive year, Northeast Iowa Community College has earned a place on the Military Friendly Schools listing, a distinction that honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as college students. G.I. Jobs, an online resource for U.S. military personnel, compiles the annual listing.

The listing mentioned NICC's efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, the availability of services for veterans and its academic accreditations.

NICC provides support to students through Student Veterans Association groups at the Calmar and Peosta campuses and, at the Calmar campus, students and staff have also developed the Vet2Vet Mentoring Program to provide additional support for veterans in their adjustment to civilian and college life.
