Shareholders to engage in next steps of evaluating elementary school facilities

StruXture Architects has already made (last spring) a set of potential options for the Decorah School District to deal with the significant shortcomings in the John Cline and West Side Schools. Now the Shareholders Group (community members) will take the next step in future planning. They will tour the facilities on November 25 with StruXture. Then they will meet in December to discuss their thoughts about the next step, and report formally to School Board in January.

Adding complexity to the discussion will be the future of North Winneshiek School. The Decorah Community Schools could easily be needing to accommodate additional students, as well as be part of determining what to do with the existing North Winneshiek facilities.
