Major Linus J. Barloon II is the Chief of Cyber Operations Division at the White House Communications Agency.  He is also a 1989 Decorah High School graduate.

On Monday morning Major Barloon helped his alma mater to hold its annual Veterans Day observance.

He told the audience that "a younger and smaller" Linus Barloon used to roam the halls of the high school.

Turning to his present position of providing White House cybersecurity, he noted that warfare has changed nowadays, with the front line being "very blurry" because of the threat that enemies will capture technologies and use them against the United States.  But he said American knowledge and training has always allowed the country to turn back threats.

Monday's Veterans Day program at Decorah HS included performances by the high school Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir, as well as recognition of the veterans who were in the audience.
