Disney's Epcot Center in Florida has chosen 21 artifacts from Vesterheim Museum to display at the Norway Pavilion at Epcot.
The artifacts include a Hardanger fiddle, a carved kubbestol wooden chair, silver brooches of intricate detail, a small loom, and examples of decorative Norwegian rosemaling. The pieces were packed and shipped to Epcot last week. Vesterheim's artifacts will be on loan to Epcot for three years.
Disney is creating the Epcot exhibit, called "Norsk Kultur, Inspiration for Disney's Frozen," tol help promote the film "Frozen," due out in November. The animated film is loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Snow Queen."
