Healthgrades gives Gundersen Health System top ranking

A report released today by Healthgrades® named Gundersen Health System among the nation's top performing hospitals in a number of key areas.  Healthgrades is the leading provider of information to help consumers make informed decisions about a physician or healthcare organization.

Healthgrades ranked Gundersen Lutheran among the top 5 percent in the nation in eight specialties--cardiac care, coronary intervention, orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, general surgery, gastrointestinal care, critical care and pulmonary care.  Healthgrades designated Gundersen as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals 2014 in cardiac care, coronary intervention, critical care, GI care and orthopedic surgery.

The findings are part of American Hospital Quality Outcomes 2014: Healthgrades Report, which evaluates the performance of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for the 31 most common inpatient procedures and conditions.

For its 2014 analysis, Healthgrades evaluated approximately 40 million Medicare-patient records for services performed from 2010 through 2012.
