City of Decorah looking to add language to its ordinances to cover digital signs

Decorah is beginning to get a few digital signs around town.  But City of Decorah officials have noticed that the city's ordinances make no mention of digital signs, as opposed to static signs.

The city's Planning & Zoning Commission has decided to tackle the question.  There are no specific complaints about the digital signs, but city officials decided it would be better to check out what other Iowa communities do to regulate this type of sign--and to add such language to City of Decorah ordinances.
