Metronet has started operation

The Metronet system that links seven Decorah organizations, including the City of Decorah, Decorah Schools and Winneshiek County offices, has started operation.

City/county IT official Chopper Albert says the city and county computer systems have begun using the Metronet fibers, with the Decorah School District beginning some use.

The fiber optic network will link together governmental and non-profit organizations, giving them backup protection and helping to lower their IT costs.
