St. Ben's and De Sales students attend Iowa Super Power Summit

Six 7th graders from St. Benedict School in Decorah and De Sales School in Ossian got to attend the Iowa Super Power Summit in Des Moines earlier this month.
 
St. Benedict students Emma Rooney, Helen Weis and Allison Groux and De Sales students Mary Conway, Jenna Knutson and Sarah Hertges were taught ideas and leadership skills to help schools improve their health and wellness activities and to provide them with the resources to make a change.  There were several group wellness idea breakout sessions and a keynote speech by former NFL player Jared Devries.
 
The event was organized by St. Benedict physical education and health teacher Trevor Rockwell.  Student participation was determined through an essay contest.
