The Decorah Community School District Foundation has begun raising money for the Carrie Lee Auditorium renovation

Posted: Sun, Oct 13, 2013 8:26 PM

The Decorah Community School District Foundation is raising money for the renovation of Carrie Lee Auditorium.  The total cost of improvements is estimated to be $250,000.  Improvements will include new seating, curtains, flooring, lights and paint.  The auditorium will become handicapped accessible and will seat 400. The project is expected to completed early in 2014.

Lead donors have already committed over $50,000 toward the project.  The DCSD Foundation is hoping the community and alumni who have performed or enjoyed performances in the auditorium will contribute to this cause.

The school district foundation will be selling seat sponsorships for $250 apiece.  If all 400 seats are sold this will raise $100,000.  That would cover a good share of the cost of renovation.  A plaque in the Auditorium will honor donors.

Gifts made to Decorah Community School Foundation, a 501C3 organization could be tax deductible--please consult your tax adviser. Checks may be made out to DCSD Foundation, c/o Kelly Brickley at Hacker Nelson, 123 W Water St, Decorah, IA, 52101.
