Students in Elaine Lore's class at Decorah High School took a break from studies Wednesday to head to the Decorah Butterfly Garden in the Decorah Prairie.

Volunteers have been working to reclaim the garden from some persistent weeds.  This summer's high waters and strong winds allowed invasive plants to take over part of the garden.  So on Wednesday the students helped by clipping out weeds, digging dirt and spreading mulch.

Hawkin Port-Lettington, Ezri Dowden, Laurel Zweibohmer and Maxwell Sparrow worked to click down weeds
Abby Ahrens, Christopher Miculinich and Shania Kelly pulled off weed seed pods
