North Winneshiek students take part in the Read for the Record program

Kindergarten and first grade students at North Winneshiek School on Wednesday took part in Jumpstart's "Read for the Record" program.  The annual reading celebration highlights the need for quality early education in America by mobilizing adults and children to set a record for the largest shared reading experience.

North Winneshiek Technology Coach Melissa Wicklund displayed the book "Otis" by Loren Long on the classrooms Smartboard as she and the students read along.  The kindergarten and first grade students also made pictures to show how they would be a good friend, like Otis was in the book.
