Winneshiek County supervisors say they're waiting for feedback from members of the county's Planning & Zoning Commission before taking any action on three cabins at Chimney Rock Campground.
County Zoning Administrator Tony Phillips had asked supervisors to take action against the campground for building the cabins, even though current zoning ordinances do not allow such structures in campgrounds.
But Chimney Rock Campground owner Deb Keefe told supervisors four campgrounds in the county have cabins. She said, "I feel I have been singled out."
The county's Planning & Zoning Commission will meet Tuesday, October 8th, and is scheduled to discuss the issue of rewriting ordinances covering campgrounds. Supervisors decided Monday that it would not be appropriate to act now, before the P & Z Commission makes its recommendations.
