Decorah has won an All-Star Community Award from the Iowa League of Cities.
The award seeks to acknowledge and encourage excellence in local government. The City of Decorah received the award Thursday night in Dubuque for the city's involvement in the creation of the Trout Run Trail.
The Iowa League of Cities each year gives out three to five All-Star Community Awards. Three awards are given to cities in three different population categories--large, medium and small. In addition the judges may choose to award two special recognitions, one for service sharing and one for sustainability.
Thursday night's award recognized Decorah for excellence in project collaboration and meeting a community need.
