Name of new park will be selected by on-line voting

Name This Park!

The Decorah Parks and Recreation Board received 108 suggestions from the public about a name for the new park located adjacent to Will Baker Park on Pulpit Rock Road.

The entries swamped the Decorah Park-Rec Board, which was unable to select a park name at their meeting Thursday night.  However, board members were able to narrow the list of names to three possibilities:

--Will Baker Athletic Fields
--Riverbend Fields
--Tavener's Fields

The Decorah Park Rec Office will now set up an on-line survey, with voting limiting to one vote per e-mail address.  The results will then be presented to the Park-Rec Board at its next meeting.
