NICC reports mixed enrollment for fall

Northeast Iowa Community College is reporting mixed enrollment news for the fall 2013 semester.

On the one hand, the number of students taking classes at NICC is 5,201—an increase of 3.65 percent from the fall 2012 semester.  On the other hand, the number of credit hours being taken is 44,382—a decrease of 2.55 percent from the previous fall.

NICC vice president of academic affairs Kathy Nacos-Burds explains that students with work and family responsibilities are often not able to attend NICC on a full-time basis.
