City council approves steps towards buying a new fire truck

Bids on a new fire truck for the Decorah area will be opened September 30th.

But the Decorah City Council took steps Monday night towards lining up the financing for the new fire truck.  On a unanimous vote, city council members approved taking additional action to enter into a loan agreement to pay for the fire truck.  The details of that loan agreement won't be known until after bids are opened, but Monday night's action gives the city the authority to borrow up to $650,000.
