Decorah woman charged with first offense drunk driving

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has charged 45-year-old Richelle Halverson with first offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Sheriff's deputies were called to Old Stage Road near Moe Park the evening of August 25th.  Halverson had been traveling westbound on Old Stage Road when she lost control of her vehicle while driving around a curve.  The vehicle rolled over onto its top.

Halverson was uninjured and refused medical treatment.  Deputies noted a strong odor of alochol and later charged her with first offense drunk driving.
