Energy job training grant to NICC being called a success

Northeast Iowa Community College officials are saying the outcomes from a two-year energy training grant have far exceeded initial expectations

The State Energy Sector Partnership (SESP) grant was used to help Northeast Iowa residents to enroll in training programs through NICC to enter energy efficiency, renewable energy industries and other green occupations.

216 people completed the training--almost triple the 80 enrollee goal.  Several Decorah organizations joined NICC in making the program successful, including David Finholt Construction Inc., Hendrickson Building & Remodeling, Tom Massman Construction and Wadsworth Construction Inc.; Winneshiek Energy District; and Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation (NEICAC).
