Iowa DNR approves Millenium Ag expansion

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has given preliminary approval to the application by Millenium Agriculture to expand its hog confinement operation in Highland Township.
The DNR has sent a notice of its decision to Winneshiek County officials. Now the Winneshiek County Board will discuss whether to appeal the DNR's decision to the Environmental Protection Commission, which provides oversight for Iowa's environmental protection efforts.
A discussion has been scheduled for 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Winneshiek County Courthouse.
