Area middle school and high school students can learn the basic principles of filmmaking during a 19-week 'Micro-Film' Seminar" sponsored by Oneota Film Festival.

The afterschool 19-week seminar will begin September 9th.  It is aimed at helping students learn to design, produce, and edit their own films. The films will be screened at the Oneota Film Festival in Decorah February 28th through March. 2nd.

The seminar will be held at ArtHaus and taught by Luther College and University of Iowa film graduate Cade Loven of Decorah.

Said OFF board president Nancy Sojka, "The student films from the seminar screened last year at the Oneota Film Festival were a big hit. We believe this to be a valuable extracurricular activity that can expand students' potential."

Dates of the seminar are September 9th through January 15th, though class will not be held December 23rd or 30th.  The film seminar is open to students ages 12-18 (7th-12th grade). There is a $30 registration fee.  Tuition is underwritten by Oneota Film Festival.  For further information or to register, contact the instructor at loveca01@luther.edu.
