Work continues on possible community recreation center

Seven potential sites for a community recreation center in Decorah are still in the running, although work is being done to narrow the list.

The consulting firm of Design Alliance has met with members of a special study committee to determine the community's top priorities.  Based on that input, Design Alliance has removed plans for racquetball courts and has increased gym space in a potential rec center.

At this point, the consulting company and the study committee are looking into the possibility of a 25,000 to 30,000 square foot facility.
