Carrie Lee noise issue still being explored

On Monday night the Decorah Community School Board heard more about the noise problems created by Carrie Lee air handling systems. Although neighbors report the problem has improved, it still remains an issue. Representatives from Trane Company have been on site, but still have not fully resolved the problem of the air handling systems kicking on at times when they should be down. The board has agreed to put up some fencing around the system and authorized staff to explore bids for the fencing. The type of fencing – mainly aesthetic, or aesthetic and insulation – will be determined after further discussion and problem solving regarding the noise.
