Trails From Freeport has received a donation of two acres land from Rockwell Collins.

The land adjoining the Rockwell Collins parking lot, next to the Freeport Cemetery's fence, will now become a part of the future trail safely connecting Freeport to the Trout Run Trail.  The donated property allows for a safer connection between Freeport Park and the trail crossing at River Road.

Rockwell Collins Decorah Environmental, Safety and Health Specialist Tom Hauber says, "Numerous employees currently bike to work and take walks in the area while on break. Now individuals will be able to use the trail; offering a safe, accessible option for our employees, along with other businesses and residents in the Freeport area".

Trails From Freeport continues to raise money for the new trail.  Its next fundraiser will be an auction on Sunday at American Sales and Auction.
