Water Street Music Series concert on West Main Street wins approval

The Decorah City Council has given its blessing to a street dance September 7th to be held at the west end of Main Street.

The Water Street Music Series will present the Footnotes in concert starting at 6:30 that night.  However, the organization asked for permission to close off the West Main Street cul-de-sac at Dug Road.  However, city council members suggested closing the entire west end of Main Street to all but resident traffic.

WSMS representative Katie Haller promised her group would take steps to make sure the event was handled smoothly, including making sure the Footnotes did not perform past 10:00 p.m.  Haller told city council members there should not be noise complaints, noting, "It's the Foot-Notes, not a heavy metal band."
