Another county joins Emerald Ash Borer list

An Emerald Ash Borer has been found in a third Iowa county.  Jefferson County now joins Allamakee County and Des Moines County as the counties where the borer has been positively identified.  The Iowa DNR continues to monitor trees in Winneshiek County for the EAB, but so far the Allamakee County EABs have been confined to an area adjacent to the Mississippi River.

State officials are suggesting preventive treatments should be applied next spring to protect healthy ash trees within 15 miles of known EAB infested areas.
