Chimney Rock Campground is resubmitting its rezoning request

Chimney Rocks Campground owner Deb Keefe has refiled her application to rezone the campground from A-1 Agriculutral to C-1 Commercial.  An earlier request in May was rejected by the County Planning and Zoning Commission.

The revised application again asks for permission to build three 16 foot by 16 foot cabins.  A second application asks for permission to operate a "medium Service Campground."

Several neighbors opposed Keefe's previous application, citing issues involving traffic, dust, law enforcement and sewage disposal.

Keefe decided in June to withdraw her application so that she could meet with county zoning officials to retool her proposal.  The new applications will go before the Planning & Zoning Commission at a public hearing Tuesday, August 13th, at 7:00 p.m. at the courthouse.
