Books are now available for upcoming Civil War discussion

The Decorah Public Library now has books available that can be read in advance of the library's August Civil War Presentation.

Dr. Edward Tebbenhoff of the Luther College History Department will cover the year 1863 and highlight the battles of Gettysburg and Vicksburg.  
Readings include Allan Guelzo's new book entitled "Gettysburg: The Last Invasion" and "Receding Tide: The Gettysburg and Vicksburg Campaigns: by Edward C. Bearss.  Copies of both books are available at DPL. Attendees may read one or both titles, or simply show up for the discussion on August 22nd.     

Discussion facilitator Dr. Edward Tebbenhoff received his Ph.D in American history from the University of Minnesota and has taught at Luther College since 1994.
