State Street road project should be completed soon

City of Decorah officials are hoping the project to reconfigure State Street and its intersection with Claiborne Drive will be completed enough to allow traffic to use the intersection during Nordic Fest.

The project has been changing the State Street/Claiborne Drive intersection into a "T" intersection.  It also includes sidewalk construction near John Cline School and Decorah High School, as well as a planted that serves double duty as another way to control traffic.  It is hoped the new intersection will do a better job of separating different traffic flows from one another and will provide increased safety for the elementary students.
