Two new administrative positions added for the fall in Decorah Schools

The Decorah Community Schools will now employ a Technology Assistant position beginning this fall. The 200 day contract will be issued, with the possibility of adding additional days to deal with needs as they arise. The position is seen as needed to help the district as it transitions into a more complete digital learning environment.

The board also approved a sharing agreement with North Winneshiek for services of a nurse (Andrea Homestead). The appointment will be based out of North Winneshiek. Decorah will share the position at a 20 percent level and reimburse North Winneshiek $6,487 for those services. The sharing agreement is comparable to the one approved with Waukon last month for a Curriculum Coordinator position. Such sharing agreements result in considerable additional funding from the state.
