Frankville Water District is making some progress

Frankville is moving closer to having a community water well.

Engineer George Tekippe from Fehr Graham Engineering on Monday told Winneshiek County that state officials have issued a permit for a well on a piece of property in town.

Of course, that's not the final step in getting the community well.  Now the Water District must purchase the property the proposal well is located on.  An appraisal of the property set its value at $5,800.  Frankville officials now will approach the property owner and make an offer for the land.
