The Winneshiek County Convention & Visitors Bureau will again have a Winneshiek County tourism booth for all of the Iowa State Fair, which takes place this year August 8th through the 18th.
More than 40 volunteers staff the booth. The WCCVB is seeking additional volunteers to help represent Winneshiek County this year.
"Our booth will be located in the air conditioned Varied Industries Building, which attracts nearly one million fairgoers each year," said WCCVB Director Brenda Luzum. "The fair is just one of the many ways our county tourism office entices new visitors to come to our area."
Luzum adds that volunteers must be familiar with Winneshiek County and have general knowledge of area businesses and attractions. Each shift requires two people and volunteers typically work with a spouse, friend, family member, or co-worker. As an incentive, volunteers receive free tickets into the fair plus one night's free lodging.
Available shifts include:
Fri., Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Wed., Aug. 14 from 3 – 9 p.m.
Thurs., Aug. 15 from 3 – 9 p.m.
Fri., Aug.16 from 3 – 9 p.m.
Sat, Aug 17 from 3 – 9 p.m.
Sun., Aug 18 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
