UPDATE: One person injured in two-car accident at HIghway 52 and Madison Road

A New Hampton man was injured Sunday afternoon when his car was struck by a van driven by a Ridgeway woman.

Decorah Police say 59-year-old Allen Burrichter was traveling south on Highway 52 when his car was struck by a van driven by 38-year-old Tonya Sparrow when she pulled out from Pulpit Rock Road.  Sparrow told police she was continuing onto Madison Road, but did not see Burrichter's car.

Burrichter was taken by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center.  There were no other injuries.  Damages were estimated at $3,000.  Sparrow was issued a ticket for failure to yield.
