Decorah Police Department will be short one officer for several months

Decorah Police Officer Dustin Carolan is resigning to take a job with the Iowa City Police Department.

Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon announced the resignation Monday night.  Nixon says while the police department has already started advertising the opening, he expects it will take three months to fill the position.
