Decorah City Council to accept applications to replace John Franzen as 1st Ward city council representative

The Decorah City Council will handle a vacancy in the First Ward the same way it recently handled a vacancy in the Second Ward--by appointing a replacement.

First Ward City Council member John Franzen has resigned his position because of a new job.  Applications will be taken until 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 12th, at the City Clerk's Office from people interested in serving on the city council.  An appointment to the position will be made at the next Decorah City Council meeting on July 15th.
