Decorah bald eagle D1 has made it back to Hudson Bay

Decorah bald eagle "D1" not only has returned to the Hudson Bay area of Canade for the summertime--she has done it in half the time she took last summer.

Raptor Resource Project Director Bob Anderson says it took D1 just 15 days to make it to Polar Bear Provincial Park on Hudson Bay.  It took her about 30 days last year to make the same trip. 

The trip from Decorah to Hudson Bay, Canada is roughly 1,100 miles, meaning D1 averaged around 80 miles a day when flying north.
