Winneshiek County officials are asking that people who sustained water or storm damage to personal property over the past weekend should contact the Emergency Management office at (563) 382-7983. Please leave your name, phone number, and what was damaged.
The City of Decorah's Water Department says there is no need for water conservation at this time. That situation could change quickly, however, because of the ground saturation. it would take a minimal amount of rain to again tax the sewer system.
It is important to follow recommendations regarding safety that includes staying off the river, obeying road closures and barricades. Emergency responders may be involved in other duties but will only attempt rescue keeping their own safety a priority. Please do not take unnecessary risks.
Please keep checking local media outlets or Winneshiek County Public Health's or City of Decorah's Facebook pages for any possible changes and updates in weather and river situations.
