With flooding risk abating, local officials hope for no more rain

The key to avoiding more flooding in Northeast Iowa will be for the skies to stay dry over the next few days.

The National Weather Service Office in La Crosse is not encouraging on that front, however.  The forecast calls for a chance of rain through Thursday.

Emergency government officials say additional rainfall on the already wet ground would lead to additional flooding problems in the area.
