Nordic Fest will offer downtown transportation service for fest goers this year.
Decorah Trolley Company's "Holly the Trolley" will offer five pick up locations throughout downtown Decorah, running a continuous loop from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday and from noon until 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Specific locations will be pinpointed on the fest map in the Nordic Fest official program guide.
Sponsored by Randy Olson and the Fest Board of Directors, shuttle rides are offered on a first-come-first serve basis. Free-will donations will be accepted.
"Seniors have asked for transportation for years," said Fest President Sue Sander. "It can be a long, hot walk for anyone, especially those with limitations, to walk nine blocks from Vesterheim to the antique show [located at the Decorah Middle School]."
In addition to the downtown trolley, Luther College will again be offering free van shuttles to and from central campus to allow fest goers convenient parking. Van shuttles run on Friday and Saturday.
