Winneshiek County 4-H is launching an exciting new program called 4-H Robotics. Any young person in grades 4-8 is invited to participate in a two day workshop to learn how to build and program NXT robots. Robotics camp uses LEGOS and robots to make an exciting, hands-on learning experience.
"This camp will make Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) come alive and be amazingly fun in an environment where participants will enjoy learning!" stated Joni Bruvold, Winneshiek County 4-H and Youth Coordinator. Participants will take part in hands-on learning activities, using sensors to build and program a robot to meet a series of challenges.
Workshops will be offered July 24-25 at the Danan Lansing Building in Decorah and July 30-31 at the Iowa's Dairy Center in Calmar. Camps will run from 9 AM– 3 PM each day. The cost is only $10 per youth. Space is limited to 20 participants per location.
Please register by July 1 to the ISU Extension & Outreach Office in Winneshiek County, 325 Washington Street, Decorah. Registration forms are available at their county webpage, www.extension.iastate.edu/winneshiek.
