Supporters of Girl Scout's Camp Tahigwa continue to press on

Supporters of the four camps operated by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois continue to lobby in favor of keeping the camps open.

The GSEIWI Board earlier this year rejected a study committee's recommendation that the four camps--including Camp Tahigwa in Allamakee County--should be sold.  But camp supporters say the fate of the camps is still up in the air.

So they have created a website, http://soscamps.weebly.com/index.html, to plead their case.

They are pushing for a special meeting of all eligible voting members of the Council in order to amend the bylaws to allow members to vote on proposed property sales.  The group argues that Girl Scout members should be able to vote on sales of their property.
