North Winneshiek School Board calls on state legislature to provide 4 percent allowable growth next year

The North Winneshiek School Board has determined its legislative priorities for the 2014 Legislature.  Those priorities will be forwarded to the Iowa Association of School Boards.

North Winn school board members say the top priority for 2014 is having the state set the allowable growth rate at no lower than 4 percent.

The school board also wants the state to increase funds to offset transportation costs for rural schools and wants to encourage the federal and state governments to adequately support mandated special education programs.
